My name's Aleah Young, an artist from upstate NY.

Hi! My name is Aleah Young and I am an artist. I was born and raised in Lowville, a small town in Upstate NY.  Making art has always been something I knew I wanted to be able to do every day.  I have always been creative, whether I was working on a school art project, creating duct tape dresses for a competition at a Relay for Life event, or painting a piece of cardboard to look like Spongebob so I could wear it around town.  Art was always my favorite subject and I was lucky to have a talent for it. 

 

In high school, I received a National Scholastics Gold Medal for an acrylic painting I completed during my senior year.  I was fortunate enough to be able to experience the award ceremony that took place at Carnegie Hall in NYC.  The experience was overwhelming and really set me down a path to continue my art studies.

 

I received my Fine Arts AS in 2018 from Mohawk Valley Community College. It was there that I found my love for oil painting.  I then transferred to SUNY Oswego where I received my Bachelor's of Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting.  I am currently located in Upstate New York.
